If you have been isolating due to a suspected case of Coronavirus it is important that you dispose of your waste differently to help avoid the spread of the virus.
Personal waste (such as used tissues and disposable cleaning cloths) should be stored securely within disposable rubbish bags. These bags should be placed into another bag, tied securely and kept separate from other waste. This should be put aside for at least 72 hours before being put in your usual external household waste bin.
Other household waste can be disposed of as normal.
Waste should be stored safely and kept away from children. If you live in a building with communal waste areas you should store your waste in the way detailed above for at least 72 hours before putting the bags in the communal area.

Brown Bins, where service is suspended, will have renewal dates moved so that no-one misses out financially due to the problems of Covid19. Householders pay for 25 collections and we will make sure at the end of the emergency that they get full value for the money that they pay.
In a very fluid situation some decisions can be planned and other decisions have to be reactive. The council and Kier are working very hard to increase the number of RCV drivers available to deliver services. Service updates are received every morning and necessary actions agreed and implemented. If critical levels of resource are reached decisions will be made by the council in conjunction with Kier as to how services will be delivered on any day and plans for future services will be announced by the those managing the response on behalf of the council to councillors and the public. We will use all available means of communications to let councillors, parish councils and the public know what is happening.
